Monthly
Book Discussion - “The Power of Now” Beginning
October 10th (next Sunday) a monthly lunch book discussion
will be held right after sangha. The
selected book is The Power of Now by Echart Tolle, now in
paperback. Stick
around after sangha and those interested will pick a lunch place at the
end of the regular Sunday sitting session. Karen
Armstrong – Author of “Buddha” – Comes to Louisville Karen Armstrong will be guest of the Kentucky Author Forum on Wednesday, October 20th. She will discuss her book “Buddha”, which examines the relevance of Buddhism to modern times and has just been released in paperback. She will be interviewed by Robert Siegel, host of National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered”. The event begins with a wine and cheese reception at 5:00 p.m. at the Kentucky Center at Sixth and Main Streets, followed by the Armstrong interview at 6:00 p.m. and a Q & A booksigning at 7:00. Tickets are $16 and can be purchased through the Kentucky Center box office at (502) 584-7777. Fourth Sunday Is For Good ReadsDon’t forget, during our Sunday sit on the fourth Sunday of each month, please bring a reading to share with the sangha. Poems, Buddhist or practice oriented text, fun or profound, are all welcome.
